Job Description:
A BMW dealership in the greater Phoenix area is looking for a highly qualified General Sales Manager (GSM) to bring a people-focused leadership approach to a high performing team. The General Sales Manager is responsible for the profitability of the new and pre-owned vehicle departments, and contributes to customer retention. Additionally, the GSM will play a key role in team development. As such, candidates should have a passion for building winning teams and driving employee engagement through coaching and mentorship.
This role requires effective personnel management skills, knowledge of market conditions, and a keen understanding of established performance standards.
Primary Job Duties:
- Hire, train and monitor the performance of new and used vehicle department managers.
- Meet with new and used car sales managers to establish monthly objectives for unit sales, gross profits, expenses and operating profit.
- Ensure sales managers understand dealership policies and procedures.
- Work with dealer and General Manager to determine appropriate days’ supply for new and used vehicles and orders/acquires vehicle inventory accordingly.
- Establish standards for displaying, merchandising and maintaining new and used vehicles.
- Meet with the General Manager to review monthly forecasts, commission sheets, productivity reports, and the profit performance of each department as a whole and each salesperson individually.
- Provide feedback to sales department personnel during career development discussions.
- Establish systems that ensure ongoing sales training, including regular sales meetings.
- Remain up-to-date on federal, state, and local regulations related to vehicle sales.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 2 years of Dealership GSM experience is required.
- Fosters a positive, productive, team-oriented work environment through strong leadership and teambuilding initiatives.
- Exceptional analytical skills and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage a team and delegate responsibilities.
- Excellent organizational skills with high attention to detail and demonstrated ability to effectively set and manage multiple conflicting priorities.
- Valid AZ driver’s license and clean motor vehicle report (MVR) is required.
- Successful completion of pre-employment background check and drug screening.

Pay: $125,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year
