Position Summary
The General Manager oversees all daily operations of the shop — ensuring profitability, team development, and outstanding customer experiences. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who can manage people, processes, and performance with precision and integrity.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and support service advisors, technicians, and support staff.
- Manage shop performance metrics (sales, gross profit %, productivity, car count, close ratio, etc.).
- Maintain and enforce company standards for workflow, safety, and customer communication.
- Ensure efficient scheduling, parts procurement, and production flow.
- Monitor financial performance: P&L, GP per hour, ARO, and technician efficiency.
- Resolve escalated customer concerns and ensure 5-star service standards.
- Implement and refine standard operating procedures to improve consistency and profitability.
- Recruit, train, and retain high-performing staff.
- Foster a positive, professional, and accountable shop culture.
Qualifications
- Proven experience managing an automotive repair facility, service center, or dealership department.
- Strong leadership and communication skills — able to motivate and guide a diverse team.
- Proficiency with shop management systems (Tekmetric, RO Writer, etc.) and general business software.
- Understanding of financial statements, gross profit analysis, and operational KPIs.
- Excellent customer service and conflict-resolution skills.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and results-driven.
