Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Ford Used Car Manager to lead our pre-owned vehicle department. The ideal candidate will oversee daily operations, drive sales, and ensure exceptional customer service. This role requires strategic planning, team leadership, and a strong understanding of automotive sales processes to maximize profitability and inventory turnover. The Ford Used Car Manager will play a pivotal role in maintaining dealership standards and fostering a high-performance sales environment.
Duties
- Develop and implement effective sales strategies to increase used car sales volume and profitability.
- Manage the entire used vehicle inventory, including acquisition, pricing, and merchandising to optimize turnover.
- Lead, motivate, and train the sales team to achieve individual and team sales goals.
- Oversee the sales pipeline, ensuring consistent follow-up with prospects through CRM software and other tools.
- Conduct negotiations with customers, including upselling high-end vehicles and closing deals efficiently.
- Coordinate with marketing to promote used vehicle inventory through various channels such as online platforms and local advertising.
- Maintain compliance with dealership policies, manufacturer guidelines, and industry regulations.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activity to adjust pricing strategies accordingly.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing client inquiries promptly via phone or in person, ensuring high customer satisfaction levels.
- Conduct public speaking engagements or presentations as needed to promote the dealership’s used vehicle offerings.
- Support outbound sales efforts including cold calling and B2B outreach to generate new business opportunities.
Skills
- Proven experience in automotive sales management, especially within dealership environments. Minimum 3 years sales management experience required to be considered.
- Strong outside sales skills with the ability to develop new business opportunities through B2B sales and cold calling.
- Excellent negotiation skills with a focus on upselling premium vehicles while maintaining customer satisfaction.
- Proficiency in CRM software for managing customer relationships and tracking sales pipelines.
- Multilingual or bilingual abilities are highly desirable for engaging diverse clientele effectively.
- Exceptional communication skills, including phone etiquette and public speaking capabilities.
- Solid understanding of retail math, inventory management, inventory control, and dealership operations.
- Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
- Experience with marketing strategies tailored for retail automotive sales.
- Strong customer service orientation combined with effective retail sales techniques such as upselling and closing deals confidently.
